Quantum of Something

Well, I'm sorry, there are no photos this week, so if you come for just the pictures, you're out of luck. The good news, however, is that we finally have a working refrigerator in the kitchen! Yes, just when we had completely gotten used to the inconvenience of going to the basement fridge several times a day, the repair guys replaced every possible part and the Fisher Paykel is working again. Of course, they also dented the door, so we are having them back out again tomorrow. You'd think I'd be on a first-name basis with these people at this point.

We had a very busy weekend, but it was all fun. Lewis had a birthday party to go to in Fall River, MA - a laser tag party - on Saturday afternoon, so we brought him and a couple of his friends there. That night, we went to Connie & Doug's house in Wellesley for dinner, which was both delicious and fabulous company. It was great to see them, and their kids are adorable.

Sunday we ran some errands, and then went to the mall, where Lewis met some friends to see "Quantum of Solace", the new Bond film. Terry and I decided to see it, too (although we sat far away from Lew and his friends and pretended we didn't know them!). Was it good? My recommendation would be to wait for it to come out as a rental. I must admit, I'm not fond of Daniel Craig in the first place (as one reviewer put it, "He may be hot, but he's not cool"), but this movie just has none of the fun that the old Bond movies had, aside from the fact that Daniel Craig is just not suave and debonair.

After that, we came home and watched football, and although I was sad for Lewis that the Giants stomped the Ravens, I was most pleased that the Cowboys beat the Redskins. :) We are expecting our first snowflakes in RI this week (chance of flurries on Tuesday or Wednesday, I think) and our first days of highs in the 30s (!!), so winter may be here. Luckily, we just had another cord of firewood delivered!
