It is so hard to believe that summer is almost over! We tried to mix some fun things in with our errand-running and continued unpacking this weekend. There was a Waterfire on Saturday night. We almost succumbed to laziness and didn't go, so we missed the lighting, but at about 9:00 we decided that we should walk down there.

It was beautiful out, not even too cool, so we were glad we went. In the photo, you can see the fires on the basin, in front of Providence Place mall. After the long walk back up to College Hill, we had to stop for a little treat. So much for all that great exercise we got!

The next day, we had to go to Ikea for a few organizing things, and we put together some furniture and unpacked some boxes (big surprise there, huh?). But Monday was so nice, we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the sunny, mid-80s weather. We were planning to drive down to the Atlantic beaches - really only a 35-40 minute drive - but apparently, everyone else had the same idea, and we didn't exactly get an early start. So instead we went to Compass Rose beach on the Narragansett Bay. It's not a large beach, but it has a great view of the water and the Jamestown-Verrazano Bridge, and it was much less crowded than I imagine the more popular beaches were. Plus it was only about 20 minutes from our house! I am having a really hard time getting the photos on this blog to format the way I want them to, so I am sorry that there are not more. Hopefully, you get the idea well enough!

I'm glad that you had a chance to get out and enjoy the day! I have the same trouble trying to place the pictures where I want them. It seems Blogger does it whatever way it wants!!!
