Los Pelos

I just had to share a few thoughts. First of all, I now COMPLETELY understand why our cleaning lady in Maryland called us "Los Pelos" (it means "The Hair" for all you non-Spanish speakers). I run around the house vacuuming the numerous furballs in the corners of our rooms (I think you could put all the furballs together and make another animal), and literally ten minutes later there is more hair!! I thought it was bad with Baloo's white hair, but I have to say that Ozzy's black hair may actually be worse. And the cats leave fur on all of the furniture and on our clothes, which are not quite as easy to vacuum.

Also, for those of you who think I am now living a life of leisure since I no longer teach....I am here to tell you that I find that I am just as busy now as I ever was. I just don't get it. There don't seem to be enough hours in the day! Now I'm the first to admit that I am pretty good at finding ways to keep myself busy (blogging - case in point!). But between loads of laundry (ok, when we downsized the house, we also downsized the washing machine and the dryer - I am doing much smaller loads of laundry, so I am doing many more loads of laundry), cleaning up the house, feeding the animals, paying the bills, shopping for groceries, taking Lewis to school, picking him up from school, making lunches and dinners, and working my Arbonne business, I can barely read the paper each day. And the Providence Journal is a pretty thin paper! (And yes, you read that right. I am actually cooking. Will wonders never cease?!) I have mentioned this strange phenomenon to my friends who have been stay-at-home moms, and they are not surprised at all to hear how busy I am. But it has been quite a surprise for me.
